Welcome to Vacuum 101, Lesson 2: Vacuum Basics. In this lesson, we will discuss gases, including air and their significance to understanding vacuum. This lesson takes approximately 15- 20 minutes to complete.

The objectives of this lesson are as follows:

 1. Describe a gas in terms of volume (the space it occupies), temperature          (in degrees), and pressure (using various units of measurement).

 2. Explore what defines a "vacuum" or very low pressure.

 3. Understand how we can measure vacuum.
